Love To Be Catholic Update

The server migration is proceeding, all be it slowly.  Hope to have it completed by Friday.  Hopefully, sooner. The good news is that the new servers are more power and responsive. That will mean a better user experience for the LoveToBeCathlic community.  Also, we will have more control in managing the servers. So that annoying issue with some videos not uploading and converting will go away.

Good News, Bad News

The Good News: One month ago we launched the beta test version of LoveToBeCatholic.com. The response to our new Catholic video sharing web site has been spectacular. In less than 30 days we grew from a few hundred visitors to over 4000 per day.  We are on a clear path to 10,000 visitors per day by year end.  The rapid success has far exceeded our wildest dreams and expectations. We are truly blessed. I personally wish to thank all the early adopters of LoveToBeCatholic.com. I am so grateful for your support and prayers.

The Bad News: The rapid success of LoveToBeCatholic.com caused us to utilize more bandwidth than we had anticipated. Recognizing that we needed to expand our hosting infrastructure, we first approached our hosting service two weeks ago about adding bandwidth. Regrettably, they have chosen not to give us any more bandwidth. This last development is shocking and disappointing and came without warning. Alas, we are helpless. The hosting company does reserve the right to cut customer off if they choose to do so. I suspect that they simply can't meet our bandwidth needs as well as serve their other customers as well. At least, that is my assumption. 

So, we find ourselves in the unfortunate predicament being forced to temporally go offline as we shift to a new hosting environment. It will take up to a week to complete the migration.

We promise to be back up soon, providing great Catholic videos.  Thank you for your patience during the transition.

Love To Be Catholic Down For The Weekend

LoveToBeCatholic.com will be down for the weekend as we move to a new hosting environment.  Assuming all goes smoothly, we will be back up on Monday. Have a good weekend.

Computer Dried Fruit

Great multi-tasking idea.  Dry fruit for the holidays while you blog or hammer out that quarterly sales report. Too funny. 

I stumbled upon this here.  Comes with directions: "A feral apple ring was suspended, using a bent fork, in front of the hot air vent of an office workstation. After 24 hours it was dry and ready for storage."

Of Bugs and Birds

We are now one week into our beta launch.  Lots of great feedback from users.  As expected with any beta test, we are flushing out the bugs and fixing them as fast as possible.  Thus the cute bird on the video link screen shots below. Those will go away in a few days.  There is one troubling issue with converting some of the uploaded videos to flash.  It appears to be a server side issue.  Unfortunately, our hosting partner is less than responsive.  Looks like we'll have to find another. One more thing to put on our list.  Forget sleep.  Much to do.  So is the life of a "Faith Entrepreneur." Thanks for everyone's patience and support. Keep praying and spreading the news about our web site and efforts to spread the Gospel.
