I was playing around on Facebook yesterday and discovered an independent fan site for LoveToBeCatholic.com. That is really cool and a very pleasant surprise.  Wow, a fan site. 

I hope that word of our mission will continue to resonate and spread across the Catholic community.  After all, I and everyone that contributes to LoveToBeCatholic.com is doing so for the good of the Church.  We are working hard for the Catholic community.

I'll close this post with a plea for support and help.  I ask your help in promoting LoveToBeCatholic.com. Ask a friend to join LoveToBeCatholic.com.  Email one of our videos to a family member.  Post our link or banner on your web page or blog.  Embed our videos in your blog as well.  These small gestures can combine to make a big impact.

New Hyper Fast and Powerful Servers!

LoveToBeCatholic.com keeps growing. As it does, we continue to upgrade our infrastructure. We just finished migrating to a new server.  That means faster uploading of videos, less buffering, and better overall performance.

The investment should be worth it.  I hope that you all find the user experience better and the web site faster and more responsive.

New Christmas Theme Graphics on LTBC

How do you like the new Christmas theme for LoveToBeCatholic?  My graphic designers like it. However, I am suggesting that they revise it to be more in keeping with the true meaning of Christmas.  Stay tuned for design #2.

   

What if "24" was set in 1995?

This is pretty funny. It reminds me of how far technology has advanced in such a short time. It also makes me nostalgic for a simpler time, before information overload, spam, and being connected 24/7/365 (How many times to do you check email on vacation?). On the otherhand, technology is enabling many positive innovations. I look forward as Catholics continue to embrace technology to connect and grow as a community and in faith.

Check out this week's Catholic Carnival.  It's is being hosted by Jay at the Living Catholicism blog.  Catholic Carnival is terrific and wins my fictional Evangelization 2.0 Award of Merit.  It is a great example of leveraging technology to share the Catholic faith.  It is sort of a roundup of Catholic blog posts from the last seven days.  Each week the Carnival is hosted by a different blogger.  Check it out. It is fun and insightful.

A Letter To LoveToBeCatholic.com Friends and Supporters

To my many new friends,

The rapid growth of Love To Be Catholic during our first month of operation caught all of us by surprise. Growing from 2 to over 4500 visitors/per in just 30 days exceeded our wildest expectations and unfortunately also our allotted bandwidth. So it was a bit of a good news/bad news situation. Clearly the web site meets a need and resonates with Catholics. However, we were forced to go off line and migrate to new, more powerful servers.

The migration project is complete. We are well prepared to welcome tens of thousands of visitors. We will continue our work to make www.LoveToBeCatholic.com a fun and interesting resource for Catholics and an important tool for the new evangelization.

I wish to personally thank everyone for their patience, support, and prayers. Spread the word about www.LoveToBeCatholic.com.  Let's carry on the work of our Lord!

LoveToBeCatholic.com is back on line. We are alive and well!!

Thank you for everyone's patience during the server migration. Having to be offline was not ideal nor intentional.  I can rightfully complain about the shameful disregard and conduct of our former hosting company, but in the end the buck stops with me.  It was my decision to choose them.  While the past few days have been stressful and difficult, I look back with amazement at what we accomplished to get us back on line. 

Now we have better, more powerful servers, lots of bandwidth, great support, are positioned for growth and to carry on the work of the Lord. 

Thanks again. For all of you who said a prayer, sent messages of support, as well as posted updates on their blogs, I thank you.  I am deeply grateful.

Love To Be Catholic Update Part Deux

We are making progress. The new server is configured, components are uploaded, all files and videos are transferred. Whew! What a job that was to do.  Note to self..avoid future server migrations.  Ugh.
